The majority of adults experience back or neck pain at some point in their lives — be it mild or severe. There are many causes of neck and back pain, many of which are related to musculoskeletal injuries or underlying health conditions. Here at Stanlick Chiropractic, one of our primary purposes is to help Murfreesboro patients identify the source of this type of pain, as well as develop a treatment plan designed to alleviate symptoms, resolve the problem and establish a strong and healthy spine that will be resistant to future pain and injury.

Pain that affects the neck, back and shoulders is often caused by posture, lifestyle factors or injury. The pain may vary in intensity by patient, and may be described as chronic and achy, or sharp and sporadic. Pain that affects the lower back and radiates into the hips, thighs and legs may be a sign of sciatica. Patients who have this condition typically experience pain that worsens when sitting, and it may be accompanied by tingling, numbness, weakness or even a burning sensation in the buttocks, legs and one or both feet.

Sciatica and pain in the upper back and neck are often the result of an injury in the spine, such as a compressed vertebrae or a herniated disc. These types of injuries, which are often caused by car collisions or similar accidents, may place pressure on the sciatic nerve, or may simply restrict motion range capabilities.

Chiropractic treatment supplemented by other natural treatment methods may help the body recover from such injuries and restore original spinal health without surgical intervention. The key to improving chances of successful rehabilitation, however, is seeking chiropractic help as soon as possible. Waiting to undergo treatment can make the recovery process much longer, and could allow for the accumulation of scar tissue surrounding the injury.

At our office, our chiropractor believes in utilizing every tool possible to deliver fast and effective pain relief to our patients in a natural, non-invasive way. We use chiropractic treatment to treat neck pain, back pain and the symptoms of sciatica. Our chiropractic services include manual adjustments of the spinal column, which when delivered consistently over time, can cause vertebrae and discs to return to their natural positions with less pain and inflammation.

We also use massage therapy to help facilitate healing in the body and eliminate or reduce chronic pain. The elements of massage therapy help the muscles relax and promote overall wellness. Many patients find that combining massage with chiropractic care results in less back and neck pain, as well as fewer headaches, soreness and muscle stiffness.

Patients always want to know if the insurance company will cover treatment for their injuries. We work with a number of different insurance companies. Our staff will walk you through filing a personal injury claim and help you fill out the appropriate forms. If your injury is due to an accident, you will not pay for any of your chiropractic care visits. We bill the auto insurance company that’s held responsible for the claims directly. Our office has a Personal Injury Liaison onboard—Carolan Carter comes with years of experience working on behalf of the patient with the Personal Injury Attorneys and Insurance Agents.
